Camp could also be the favorite due to the Skype presen-
tation by scientist Adam Alan with the Oak Ridge Nuclear
Laboratory. He introduced the campers to the Spallation
Neutron Source, which allows scientists to see subatomic
particles. The SNS is more powerful than an electron mi-
croscope.
Science Camp could also be the favorite due to hands on
experiments they were able to perform. The discoveries
they were able to make themselves surely made them feel
like real life scientists. They were able to crack open their
very own geode to take home as a souvenir.
Two other favorites were the Super Hero camp, directed by
Mr. Hector Miray, the published comic book author, and
the Community Super Hero Camp. Our finest heroes of
Lumberton Emergency Services took turns spending time
with the campers to teach them about safety and the ser-
vices they offer.
There is not a way to measure the level of fun achieved
through learning at Exploration Station summer camps.
We can only count the number of friendships made and the
many smiles on the faces of the children.
Exploration Station would like to thank the people and or-
ganizations that volunteered their time and talents to anoth-
er successful summer.
