strength and preventing some auto-immune diseases. Try to
spend some time outdoors if it isn’t too cold and make sure
to dress appropriately. You can also sit facing a window
that gets plenty of sun exposure and not have to get outside
to brave the temperature.
To go along with getting more actual sunlight, you can also
supplement your diet with additional vitamin D. The best
way to do this is to eat foods that are naturally rich in vita-
min D such as salmon, catfish, and eggs. Other foods that
we eat are also fortified with additional Vitamin D such as
milk and many cereals. You can also take over the counter
supplements of Vitamin D. Other nutritional supplements
that may help are melatonin, St. John’s wort, and turmeric.
As always, speak with your doctor before beginning any
new nutritional supplement to determine if it is appropriate
for your needs.
There isn’t much we can do to change the weather this time
of the year so the best we can do is to change ourselves
and our outlook on things. So, during this season try to
keep your spirits up and your weight down with some exer-
cise, sunlight, and proper nutrition. And just keep thinking
“Spring is just around the corner”.
