Orthopedic Surgeon to treat patients in Gray’s Creek

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael Maggitti of Southeastern Orthopedics has recently
started treating patients every Wednesday at Southeastern Medical Clinic Gray’s Creek.
Dr. Maggitti earned his medical degree from Temple University Medical School in
Philadelphia, Pa. He completed an orthopedic residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital
Center/Columbia University in New York, NY. He is certified by the American Board of
Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of both the American Association of Orthopedic
Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His areas of special
interest include total joint replacement, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, as well as
trauma and adult fracture care.
Prior to joining SeHealth, Dr. Maggitti was in private practice in suburban Philadelphia,
Pa., for 28 years. He served two terms as chief of staff at Brandywine Hospital Trauma
Center and was elected vice president of the Chester County Medical Society. More
recently, he was employed by Hospital Corporation of American in North Florida before
Dr. Michael Maggitti relocating to Robeson County.

SeHealth to work with FEMA to restore health facility
damaged during Hurricane Matthew
Officials with Southeastern Health announced today that
they will soon begin work to restore the Dr. Arthur J.
Robinson Medical Clinic facility located in south
Lumberton after it was severely damaged due to flooding
during and after Hurricane Matthew in October 2016.
“We are excited to be able to take this first step to bring
health services back to this community,” said SeHealth
President/CEO Joann Anderson.
According to SeHealth Vice President of Corporate
Services and Chief Strategy Officer David Sumner,
approval from FEMA to restore the facility was granted
after 12 months of thorough analysis and review.
Dr. Arthur J. Robinson Medical Clinic
SeHealth’s Board of Trustees has endorsed the restoration project and is fully committed to continuing the legacy of Dr.
Robinson, who practiced family medicine in the south Lumberton area from 1951 until his retirement in 1986 and for whom the
clinic was named. The 6,000-square-foot facility opened in October 2000 and included a 1,000-square-foot dental office which
was managed by Robeson Health Care Corporation.
