            Apples, Apples, Apples!!! There are many varieties of apples on the market today, with new
             heirloom types popping up every year as the air gets crisp in the fall. Enjoy your beautiful
                                        bounty with these freshly picked recipes.

          Fried Apple Pies                                     Prepare Dough: Stir together flour and sugar. Cut
                                                               shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender or
                                                               fork until crumbly. Add buttermilk, stirring just until
