In giving details of a typical day on the job, Jamie said, “My
typical day at the deli begins around 7:00 am. Soup is put on
to cook, and cookies go in the oven. Then the day’s deli meat
is sliced, and the chicken salad, pimento cheese and marinated
slaw are made. My team starts coming in at 8:30 a.m. and
prepares for the day. Then at 11:00 a.m., we open the doors to
our guests. We say guests because we strive to serve everyone
with a smile and treat them as guests in our home. We serve
from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. We clean up and plan for the next
day.”
The Deli’s location means a lot to this businesswoman. She
said, “I am extremely proud to say that we have been in Down-
town Dunn for 17 years now. We have been a member of the
Chamber the entire time and try to support events in the down-
town area and our neighbors in small businesses. To grow with
the community, I believe that you must be an active part of the
community. Dunn is a special, close-knit
community; without that quality, Broad Street Deli would not
be what it is today. We have come to love our customers like
family; it is the highlight of each day for us to be able to serve
them.”
