Nellis named SeHealth director

                                       Neurologist Zakia Bell, M.D., has joined Southeastern Neurological Center, an affiliate of
                                       Southeastern Health.

                                       Dr. Bell earned a bachelor’s degree from Howard University in 1974 and a medical degree
                                       from State University of New York/Buffalo Medical School in 1980. She completed a
                                       neurology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, NY in 1984.

                                       She extended her training by completing a fellowship in intensive care neurology with
                                       emphasis in cerebrovascular disease at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System/
                                       Medical College of Virginia in Richmond in 1985 as well as a fellowship in
                                       electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular disease, which are her areas of special
                                       interest within her practice, from Medical College of Virginia in 1988. EMG is a diagnostic
                                       test used to diagnose conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and muscular dystrophy.

                          General Surgeon joins SeHealth






                                          General Surgeon DuBose Medlock, Jr., M.D., has joined Southeastern Surgical Center,
                                          an affiliate of Southeastern Health.

                                          Dr. Medlock earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina
                                          in Charleston in 1986. He completed a surgical residency at Tulane University Affiliated
                                          Hospitals in New Orleans, La., in 1991. He is board certified in general surgery and is a
                                          fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

                                          Dr. Medlock is experienced in a broad range of surgical procedures including: diagnostic
                                          and therapeutic laparoscopy; open laparotomy; repair of abdominal hernias;
                                          comprehensive diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast, thyroid, and GI malignancies;
                                          thyroid and parathyroid surgery; and upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. He also has
                                          a great deal of experience with office procedures including excision of benign and
                                          malignant skin lesions; skin cryotherapy; excision of subcutaneous masses; and fine
                                          needle aspiration. He also performs breast surgeries, pacemaker placement and vascular
                                          access procedures for dialysis.
