memorabilia, and a collection of ball caps. “I am a big Star
Wars fan,” he said.
Perspective was a skill that he taught himself and mas-
tered. The challenge, he said, is to develop patience and
to keep getting better artistically. One of the techniques he
uses to build skill, and to challenge himself, is reversing
what he normally does when he draws. “I’ll occasionally
use white charcoal pencil on black artigan drawing paper
so I can see things differently,” he said. “It retrains my
brain. I shade in the light areas instead of the dark.”
He produces both standard grade and museum grade qual-
ity artwork. The artist papers he uses range from 300-400
Series Strathmore paper to 300 lb., cold press, museum
grade, Fabriano Artistico Paper. He protects his work with
a Fixatif,” he said. There are three different sizes of por-

standard grade, and between $120 to $525, for museum
quality.
