Thank You
Jesus
Movement
If you’ve driven on the back roads of Robeson County or even the city streets, chances are you’ve seen the “Thank You
Jesus” signs along the road. Just what is the story behind these signs?
Sixteen-year-old Lucas Hunt from Asheboro had a heart for putting up yard signs in his neighborhood during Christmas,
reminding people that “Jesus is the reason for the season”. His plan was to put these signs out again at Easter. A simple
message that could quickly be read but had a powerful meaning was the goal for these signs. “Thank You Jesus” seemed
to resonate for every situation someone might be facing in life.
With God’s provision, what began as an Easter project has launched into an international movement. Tens of thousands
of Thank You Jesus signs are planted in many states across the US and in several countries around the world.
The proceeds from the sign go to the Thank You Jesus mission, a 501(c)3 organization. The ministry focuses on the
rural areas of North Carolina with grants to churches and 501C3 religious non-profits. Grants are used for programs
such as educational training for church leaders on how to reach their community with the Gospel, for food banks, soup
kitchens and homeless shelters, for helping churches establish and support programs that combine the share about Jesus
with providing for the physical needs of the community. Visit ThankYouJesusMission.org for more information.
