Earlier we talked about cost. Shop around; there are quality
camps that will cost less than day care and guarantee your child
is not in front of a screen. Also, many programs have scholar-
ships - some churches and other groups love to work with fam-
ilies to ensure they have an opportunity for a quality summer
program. You would be amazed at what is available out there.
Years ago, my parents’ plan was for me to be away from the
screen and out of trouble. Today the plan is the same, the screen
is just different. So, think about shattering the glass screens in
your child’s life, and finding a summer experience they will
never forget. They will be happier, healthier, and better for it.
