tion’), and shaving oil, designed for his clean-shaven friends
who still wanted to support the company. The shaving oil dif-
fers from the beard oil in that its carrier oil is heavier so it stays
on the face while shaving. The beard oil is lighter and thinner
so it can be combed through the beard hairs more easily. Bass
said the next product to be released is a pomade, and the scents
will coincide with the existing collections.

The products are sold online, but retail sales significantly out-
number online sales. Bass said in regards to the company’s
growth, that he is selective with retail partners because he wants
to ensure that the Cardinal Beard Co. is affiliated with local
business that have aligning values. Thus far, he has focused on
placing the products within higher end retail outlets. Cardinal
Beard Co. products are available at The Bearded Goose Bar-
bershop in downtown Dunn, Revelry Barbershop in Fuquay-
Varina, and in Anstead’s Tobacco Company in Fayetteville.
Bass said the company has established its footing within the
last year, and as he slowly adds more retail partners, he is look-
ing to participate in more events similar to the “JoCo Pop Up
Market” at Broadslab Distillery in Smithfield on March 21st,
where Cardinal Beard Co. will have a booth.

“Everything being made locally, right here in the Harnett
County area, all of it’s handcrafted, handmade – we’re very
proud of being able to do that,” Bass said.
