Add Character to Your Home
.............CONSIDER CERAMIC TILE
Having grown up in the 70’s, 80’s and 1990’s, and
my parents being in this business, I have seen many trends
come and go. Nothing has been on both ends of the spec-
trum as much as ceramic tile. If you are 50 years of age
or older, you may remember the wide variety of tile col-
ors in bathrooms of that date. The decorators were bold in
their color choices, they even went so far as colored toilets,
sinks and tubs.
The colors were vibrant, with blues, pinks, autumn gold,
avocado green and my personal favorite, burnt orange! To-
day these choices of colors would surely turn some heads.
In the late 1990’s and 2000’s, the trends went to white and
neutral colors. Accent borders were used to introduce col-
ors. People began to use tile in areas of the house that had
never been thought of before. Sun rooms, kitchens, outside
porches and accent walls, just to name a few.
Tile is one of the most durable floors, when installed cor-
rectly and can last forever. Tile is the only product that is
completely waterproof and can be installed in wet areas
like showers.
Today tile has never been more popular and the choices are
endless. People are doing tile in all areas of the home and
office. With tile you can do almost any design imaginable
for showers, tub surrounds, kitchen backslashes, count-
er tops and floors. Tile can be run in different directions,
laid in patterns, to create exquisite designs. If using Por-
celain tile the applications for outside are almost endless.
Installed on porches, on pool decks, steps or patio, which
also proves to be a landscaper’s dream!
